Outstanding Player for the Blues Against the Jets

Jake Neighbours made an impact on his limited ice time Tuesday, hustling, playing gritty, and forechecking hard against the Winnipeg Jets. Coach Craig Berube rewarded Neighbours' efforts by moving him up in the lineup late in the game, but the Blues ultimately fell 4-2.

Blues fans can only hope that Neighbours' finish can catch up to his relentlessness on the ice, because he has the potential to be a really good hockey player.

Despite getting just 12:11 of ice time and being a minus-1, Neighbours was hounding pucks most of the night, along with linemates Oskar Sundqvist and Alexey Toropchenko. Neighbours drew two penalties with his hustle and had a great scoring chance off a 2-on-1 with Toropchenko in the first period, but his shot went off Connor Hellebuyck's shoulder.

Neighbours was elevated late in the game to play alongside Kevin Hayes, along with Toropchenko, who also had a nice game.

Neighbours finished with four shot attempts (two on, two blocked) and had a hit in the game, but his skating and forechecking were particularly impressive.
